The South Hams opened it’s arms to tourists again at the beginning of July, and within days the towns, beaches and shops were busy and buzzing, giving the area a much needed economic boost. The glorious sunny weather ensured beaches were the perfect place for picnics and paddling…

Salcombe Dairy was delighted to fully reopen it’s cafes in both Dartmouth and Island Street, Salcombe – protecting staff and customers alike with perspex screens and vigorous hygiene practices to make sure everyone can enjoy eating our delicious ice cream and sorbets safely. Our beach hut on Kingsbridge quay proved a popular spot for those enjoying ice cream al fresco – watching the boats and the world go by alongside the estuary…We also opened a new location on the stunning Cathedral Green in Exeter town centre, where our trusty horsebox serves coffees, teas and ice creams to visitors. Salcombe Dairy is delighted to be supporting the Cathedral in thus venture, raising much needed funds to preserve this beautiful historic building.

As our trade customers gradually reopened pubs, restaurants and shops, our factory was back in action again making ice cream and sorbets to keep up with orders. It was great to see the fresh cream from the farm being delivered again and made into delicious pots of ice cream.

We have also been beavering away launching our new consumer-focused website which makes online chocolate ordering so much easier. Now it’s just a few simple clicks needed to select a gorgeous gift box of dark, milk or a variety of bean-to-bar chocolates to be sent anywhere around the country. The perfect gift from South Devon!
