From a moment of inspiration on a Devon beach in the summer of ’79, Salcombe Dairy has grown into a producer of peerless ice creams and now award-winning bean to bar chocolate. We’ve been in Salcombe right from the outset, on Island Street, and today, we are immensely proud to continue the journey in the very heart of South Devon.

This small, South Devon town is glorious, nestling on the west bank of the steep Kingsbridge estuary. Mixed period properties face sandy beaches and look out over The Bar to a sparkling seascape, set between Fort Charles and Sunny Cove. A unique place to live and work that has become an irresistible place to escape to.

To work among these glorious surroundings has brought all of us here at Salcombe Dairy immeasurable joy and continues to inspire us to create the very best ice cream and chocolate on a daily basis. Were delighted to announce, after much hard work, our buzzing factory is about to undergo a re-vamp, as we plan to enlarge and rearrange the ice-cream and chocolate layout. This exciting development will result in a larger chocolate making area, a new shop, terrace café and refined experience, opening the summer of 2022.

Kingsbridge Cabin

Open seasonally, our Kingsbridge cabin alongside the Quay is the perfect place to enjoy an ice cream or a hot and cold drink whilst watching the boats and paddle boarders, or doing a spot of crabbing…
