In true Willy Wonka spirit, our Salchemist Masterclass invites you into the heart of our production kitchen on Island Street, Salcombe, where you'll discover how our award-winning ice cream and bean-to-bar chocolate are made. Whether you're a devoted chocolate lover, an ice cream enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique Devon experience, this two-hour tasting masterclass offers an unforgettable glimpse behind the scenes.
Led by members of our factory team, you'll learn about over 45 years of traditional ice cream making and our bean-to-bar chocolate journey, from ethically sourced Peruvian cacao beans through to the finished chocolate bars enjoyed across the UK.
Your experience includes:
- A fascinating introduction to the history of Salcombe Dairy.
- A demonstration of how our artisan ice cream is made using fresh Devon milk and natural ingredients.
- A guided visit to our bean-to-bar chocolate factory to see the chocolate-making process in action.
- A tasting journey through our chocolate range, beginning with the pure cocoa bean before sampling our Midnight dark chocolate, Evening Star milk chocolate, blond and white chocolate.
- The chance to create your own handcrafted chocolate bar to take home.
- A tasting of around twenty of our award-winning ice cream flavours, including our famous Honeycomb, with plenty of opportunities to discover a new favourite.
