There are few things more pleasing than a rich, fudgy chocolate brownie, served warm, with a generous scoop of our Madagascan Vanilla ice cream slowly melting on top. Whether you’re entertaining guests, treating your family, or simply in need of a chocolate fix, this recipe is a guaranteed to delight.

We believe great desserts start with great ingredients. That’s why we have chosen to make these brownies with our very own bean-to-bar 70% dark chocolate and our luxuriously smooth hot chocolate powder for an extra cacao kick. Check out the recipe below and give them a try yourself: 

Ingredients:

  • 200g Salcombe Dairy 70% Dark Chocolate (chopped)

  • 100g Salcombe Dairy Hot Chocolate Powder (or cacao powder)

  • 175g unsalted butter

  • 250g soft brown sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • 100g plain flour (gluten-free if required)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • Optional: 100g white chocolate chunks

Method:

  1. Preheat & Prepare:
    Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Line a square baking tin (20x20cm) with baking paper.

  2. Melt the Chocolate & Butter:
    In a heatproof bowl, gently melt the Salcombe Dairy dark chocolate and butter together over a pan of simmering water (or microwave in short bursts). Stir until silky smooth.

  3. Whisk Sugar & Eggs:
    In a separate bowl, whisk the sugar and eggs together until light, fluffy, and pale in colour.

  4. Combine:
    Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the eggs and sugar, stirring gently to combine. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt.

  5. Add Dry Ingredients:
    Sift in the flour and Salcombe Dairy hot chocolate powder. Fold everything together until just combined. If using, stir in the white chocolate chunks.

  6. Bake:
    Pour the batter into your prepared tin and bake for 35 minutes, or until the top has a slight crust and the middle is still gloriously fudgy.

  7. Cool & Slice:
    Allow to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before slicing into generous squares.

For the perfect finishing touch, serve each brownie warm with a scoop of our Madagascan Vanilla Ice Cream. The creamy vanilla pairs beautifully with the rich, intense chocolate. To finish drizzle with a little extra melted chocolate or a dusting of hot chocolate powder.
