Every 7th July, chocolate lovers around the globe unite to celebrate the wonder that is chocolate. At Salcombe Dairy, we’re marking World Chocolate Day by honouring the remarkable journey of the humble cacao bean, and what makes our chocolate truly special.
A Bean With Endless Possibility
Chocolate is one of the world’s most loved ingredients, and for good reason. It can be melted, moulded, tempered, stirred, or simply snapped. Whether you’re enjoying it in an elegant truffle, a chunky bar, a silky hot chocolate or a rich ganache, chocolate is incredibly versatile and endlessly indulgent.
We like to embrace this versatility with creativity and care. From our creamy milk chocolate bars to rich drinking chocolate, every creation begins with the same attention to detail.
From Bean to Bar
We don’t just work with chocolate, we make it from scratch, here in our coastal Devon home. Our bean-to-bar process starts with organic, fairly traded cacao nibs sourced from cooperatives in the Peruvian rainforest. We melange, conche, temper and mould every batch ourselves to ensure a smooth, deeply flavoured chocolate that truly celebrates the cacao bean.
Naturally Free-From, Always Full of Flavour
All our chocolate is 100% natural and free from gluten, soya, palm oil, and nuts. That means more people can enjoy our chocolate with confidence without ever compromising on taste or texture.
We also use compostable packaging, because we believe that great chocolate shouldn’t come at the planet’s expense.
Ethically Sourced, Artisan Made
We’re proud to support fair trade practices and small farming communities through the purchase of our cacao. It’s all part of our commitment to making chocolate that feels as good as it tastes — for you, and for the planet.
So this World Chocolate Day, we’re raising a square (or two) of bean-to-bar brilliance to everyone who shares our passion for chocolate made properly.
