There’s a new way to enjoy Salcombe Dairy this summer, and you’ll need to take to the water to find us.
Our beautiful vintage clinker-built Launch is back on the Salcombe Estuary, but this year we’re doing things a little differently. Rather than delivering around the estuary, we’ve moored in one spot, creating our very own floating cafe, where you can pull alongside for freshly made coffee and our award-winning ice cream.
Find Us on the Salcombe Estuary
You’ll find the Salcombe Dairy Launch just off the eastern shoreline of the Salcombe Estuary, down from the fuel barge, north-west of Ditch End Beach and north-east of the East Portlemouth ferry steps.
We’re perfectly positioned for anyone enjoying a day on the water, whether you’re exploring by boat, dinghy, paddleboard or kayak. If you’re visiting the estuary from further afield, including Dartmouth or Totnes, make us one of your stops while you’re here.
We’ll be moored on the estuary from 10:30am–4pm every day throughout the summer.
Coffee and Ice Cream, Served on the Water
Pull alongside and you can choose from a selection of our award-winning Salcombe Dairy ice creams in 120ml tubs, with flavours changing.
We’re also serving Exe Coffee Roasters coffee, freshly prepared aboard the launch and available with either whole or oat milk. Whether it’s a flat white, cappuccino, latte, Americano or simply a great cup of coffee you’re looking for, our crew will make it for you while you enjoy one of the best views in Salcombe.
And speaking of our crew, you may recognise a few faces! Our now very grown-up children will be spending some of their summer aboard the launch, serving customers and helping us bring this latest Salcombe Dairy adventure to life. We’re not entirely sure there’s a better summer job.

For us, Salcombe Dairy has always been about celebrating this very special part of Devon. From making our ice cream and chocolate here in Salcombe to our shops and the people who visit us year after year, the estuary has always been part of our story.
The Salcombe Dairy Launch brings all of those things together, good ice cream, great coffee and summer days spent on the water.
